ZBEU President Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer presented the flag awards that won at the Barrier-Free University Awards 2023 organized by YÖK to their winners.

A meeting was held within the scope of the “Barrier-Free University Awards 2023” to evaluate the accessibility activities in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEU) units and determine new strategies. At the meeting, ZBEU President Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer presented the flag awards won by ZBEU, which ranked 5th among Turkish universities in the Barrier-Free University Awards 2023 organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), to their owners.

The meeting held in Tahir Karauğuz Conference Hall was attended by ZBEU President Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bekir Hakan Bakkal, Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, senate members, directors of research and application centers, department heads, faculty and college secretaries and unit managers .

After the presentation made by Disabled Student Unit Board of Directors Chairman Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, President Özölçer presented the awards to the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Durmuş Günay Library, Obesity and Diabetes Application and Research Center, which made efforts to organize open, semi-open and closed areas for disabled individuals and were awarded the “Orange Flag” award at the 2023 Barrier-Free Universities Awards, and the Faculty of Science, Ereğli Faculty of Education, Devrek Vocational School and Zonguldak Vocational School, which were awarded the “Green Flag” award for Accessibility in Education in 2023.
